It’s the once-monthly storytime for distant-from-me storytimes—Friday night at 9 p.m. central time is Saturday in Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Check your timezone. It’s free, though I do make a plea for monetary tips at the end (Venmo or Paypal). All ages, registration required.
NO STORYTIME IN DECEMBER. Come back in January for the last one. After that, I’ll do occasional storytimes, so always check this calendar and my FB page for those.
I gently guide participants in basic puppet technique, character development, creating voices, puppet schtick and more in this participatory workshop for teachers, librarians and storytellers who work with young children. The focus is on using puppets without a stage, especially puppets with a moving mouth. Bring your puppet friends! Register on Eventbrite. $24.50

Join me for a rollicking love story that has stood the test of time! You'll hear of kidnapping, dragon tongues, love potions, iridescent fairy dogs, the Hairy Urgan and so much more in this Medieval tale.
I'm telling it on Saturday night and again on Sunday afternoon. There will be a short intermission at about 55 minutes. The Zoom link will be the same for both days, so if listening to the entire 95-minute story is daunting on Saturday night, come back on Sunday afternoon about 3 p.m. CST (don’t buy a second ticket, just come). Or you can hear it twice in it's entirety for the price of once.
This is appropriate for adults and older kids (though younger listeners from my regular Zoom storytimes are also welcome).
Tickets on Eventbrite.

Come ready to play! I’ve been collecting story games, stretches and songs for decades. These are great for wiggle breaks, or to teach story structure or other concepts, or for filling in five minute gaps in your schedule. Some work well online, some are better in person. There will be time for sharing and for questions at the end of the workshop.
The same workshop is also being offered on Wednesday, March 31 at 9:00 a.m. I’m in US Central time, so check your timezones!

From Baba Yaga to the watery world of the rusalka to Tsar Saltan, these folktales will carry you into a rich realm of imagination. I bring you my favorite stories from Russia, informed by my own knowledge of Russia and Eastern Europe. Before I ever dreamed of being a storyteller, I studied Russian and Bulgarian and even worked as a Slavic librarian.
These stories are for older kids and grownups, not for young children.
Tickets available on Eventbrite. There’s a regular price of $15 per household, as well as a pay-as-you-can option.
